About Mr Do’S

The moment a lively hum of conversations blends seamlessly with the clinking of bowls sets the tone at Mr Do’S. Ambient lighting and simple décor create a space that feels approachable rather than overly styled. Scanning through various customer images online reveals the freshness and vibrant colors vividly represented, a good hint at the experience awaiting on the plate. While some patrons note a slower pace during peak hours, it never detracts significantly from the overall dining experience. Familiar favorites such as bánh mì and pho are presented with commendable authenticity, though occasionally the seasoning can lean slightly toward the milder side compared to expectations.

Diving deeper into the offerings shows a thoughtful balance between classic and nuanced choices. The varied Mr Do’S menu caters to both traditional tastes and those willing to explore subtler flavors found in less common dishes. The presentation strikes a pleasing middle ground—not overly ornate but inviting enough to entice appetites. Reviews circulating online tend to appreciate the genuine effort in ingredient quality, although a handful mention that portions can feel moderate when considering the price point. The interplay between fragrant herbs, richly spiced broths, and crisp textures demonstrates a clear dedication to maintaining the essence of Vietnamese cuisine without veering into fusion territory.

Beyond the food itself, the interaction between staff and diners contributes noticeably to the atmosphere. Service is generally attentive, with staff exhibiting both knowledge and patience, even during busier times. The open kitchen layout fosters an element of transparency appreciated by many visitors searching for reliable accounts of Mr Do’S restaurant’s operation. This visible level of care lends credibility to its standing among the many Vietnamese dining options within the area. Overall, the balance of inviting flavors, a comfortable environment, and a spirited yet unpretentious vibe characterizes the experience without aiming for extravagance.

The rice paper dolls are my son’s favourites! In fact, if you’re open Boxing Day this year - that’s his request! Best around.

I have been coming here for years and used to bring my dad with me sometimes. I have always bought tofu "crunchy fried rice" and I think dad would get his with fried rice. We both enjoyed the food and had no major issues with anything else even though the service was a little inconsistent. I no longer have the option to bring dad but still come here every couple of months. Updated review: A little while ago they completed rebuilt Mr Do's a few metres away, I'm happy to say that the cleanliness and quality has been restored. The new structure is much more open so if they let standards slip it will be very obvious. I've had the crunchy friend rice a few times, no opting for beef and it has been good to really good - I'm not sure why the inconsistency but at least once the beef was a different colour as if they had added the wrong type. Overall I think the quality has returned and I can recommend Mr Do's again. Old review: ...Unfortunately the quality of the food seems to have fallen off recently and I'm wondering if it's changed owners, staff or how they make the fried rice. I also noticed the disgraceful state of their front counter which drew my attention to look more closely at the kitchen. The kitchen didn't have such obvious filth but didn't scream, "we take pride in our cleanliness" either. There has always been a table and chair attached to the back of Mr Do's and it doesn't seem to be cleaned and maintained by the Westfield food court as it has become dirtier and more run down over the years (unless they fixed it since my last visit, I didn't bother to look today) If I had been paying attention to start with and had seen the disgusting state of the front counter, the filthy laptop they use as a register and other bits and pieces, I would have gone elsewhere. When back at Carindale again I'll pay more attention if tempted to try Mr Do's again. It seems like their standards have slipped all round so until they lift their game and start respecting their customers, they have lost a customer.
